Torrance police officers are in full force this holiday season. They are especially on the lookout for suspected drunk drivers. Many parts of Torrance, Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach are magnets for drunk drivers due to the high number of bars in the area. Many officers that are on the DUI task force will wait for drivers to leave a bar known to serve alcohol and initiate a traffic stop expecting some level of intoxication. In many cases, the officer’s suspicions are correct, the driver has had something to drink. Having a designated driver is critical to having a good time and avoiding being arrested for DUI. Remember, the Torrance Courthouse is tough on DUI cases.
