The San Bernardino Superior Court downtown San Bernardino Courthouse is located at 351 North Arrowhead Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92415. The San Bernardino superior court is right in the middle of the inland empire’s favorite bankrupt city. Just north of the 10 freeway and just east of the 215 freeway, you will find the San Bernardino Superior Court traffic and criminal court. This court handles traffic ticket, misdemeanor, and felony criminal matters.

Parking

If you are headed to the San Bernardino Courthouse, parking is available in the area surrounding the courthouse but be prepared to do some walking. The parking lots next to the courthouse can only handle about 10% of the cars who visit on a daily basis so parking a few blocks away and walking to the court is a common routine.

The traffic clerk at the San Bernardino Superior Court courthouse is ALWAYS busy. Lines can be upwards of two hours most days of the week. The clerk’s office is where you will need to go if you are one of those unfortunate enough to have a failure to appear or FTA which may be holding or suspending your California Driver’s License or even an out of state license. If you are facing a charge of driving without a license under VC 12500(a) or worse yet driving on a suspended under VC 14601(a) or VC 14601.1(a), you should contact a traffic lawyer immediately.

San Bernardino superior court criminal court is also the proud home of some incredibly expensive bench warrants. Like many counties in Southern California, the jail system in San Bernardino is incredibly overcrowded. The recent changes to law under realignment which shifted many state prison inmates to the county level has only made this problem worse in San Bernardino county.

The Judges on the bench in San Bernardino superior court are well aware that the jail will often cite release or OR many people stopped with low level warrants. In an effort to stop this revolving door, many judges will now issue warrants of $50,000 or more in simple traffic and misdemeanor cases. It appears this may be an effort to reduce the likelihood of a cite release, but ultimately it causes an unfair burden on the poor.
