The Beverly Hills Courthouse or Los Angeles Superior Court in Beverly Hills California is located at 9355 Burton Way, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. The Beverly Hills Courthouse handles criminal, DUI and traffic ticket matters from the city of Beverly Hills and the surrounding areas of West Hollywood, Bel Air and more. Like all things in Beverly Hills, it’s beautiful but hard to access. Going to the Beverly Hills courthouse is a several hour commitment. After exiting the 10 freeway or the 405 freeway, everything begins to slow down as soon as you hit Century City.
On most days, it is some high profile celebrity event, tourists, a fundraiser, a funeral, or maybe just old fashioned road work. Anyone who has tried driving through Beverly Hills can tell you that traffic moves at about 3 mph. If it happens to be a day that Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton are due in court, you can expect an additional delay to get around the abundance of media.
The parking situation at the Beverly Hills Courthouse is challenging. Street parking is rarely available and every space in the city seems to be accounted for in one way or another. Permit parking, resident parking, street sweeping, no overnight parking, valet, mayor, Â it seems like every single parking space is regulated in this city. Not surprisingly, the fines for parking citations are outrageous in Beverly Hills as well. Paid parking lots are plentiful and there seems to be a butler or doorman on every corner. The best option is to simply face reality and park in the paid lot beneath the courthouse. Parking for the days visit will cost you about $10 but cheaper options are hard to find.
Access to the building involves the sort of two step dance that has become common in courthouses throughout California. When the Beverly Hills courthouse was first built you could simply get in elevator from the parking garage and travel to the floor you wished to visit. Those days are long gone and everyone entering the courthouse must pass through full security screening much like going to the airport. Belt off, raise your pant legs, all metals in the doggie dish, turn your laptop off and back on; you know the drill.
In order to accommodate this, the Beverly Hills Courthouse seems to be following the City of LA’s unofficial policy of using one elevator exclusively to enter the building from the parking garage, and the remaining elevator as well, an elevator. So you get in the elevator in the garage to get to ground floor, exit through security, come back in through security, and then you go to the other elevator to get to where you are going.  Nothing says efficiency like the California Court system.
The traffic clerk at the Beverly Hills courthouse is understaffed and overworked. The traffic clerk’s office in Beverly Hills includes both the court clerks as well as the dreaded collection agency of GC Services for those unfortunate enough to have a failure to appear or FTA which may be holding or suspending your California Drivers License or even an out of state license.
For many people, the visit to the courthouse starts with waiting over an hour in line, only to be told when your reach the clerk that you actually need to go the window outside to deal with GC Services. The actual traffic clerk’s office at the Beverly Hills Courthouse is located upstairs, and the GC Services window is located on the 1st floor near the exit, which is where you want to go after you hear the ridiculous amount of fines they are requesting for your simple traffic ticket.
